Short description of the organisation
Metaindustry4 (MI4), the Advanced Manufacturing Cluster of the metal industry in Asturias, is a non-profit organisation that was formally established in 2016 and is supported by the Innovation Area of the Asturian Metal Industry Association (Femetal). The cluster has been awarded the Gold Label in Cluster Management Excellence by the ESCA, the highest European standard for cluster management. MI4 gathers 79 members from different areas of the sectoral ecosystem in Asturias: the most advanced companies in the engineering industry, scientific-technological, logistical and institutional actors, ICT enablers and other business actors linked to the sectoral value chain or their priorities as clusters. The main objective of MI4 is to promote the improvement of the competitiveness of the Asturian metal industry and the sectoral ecosystem, facilitating its integration into the main global value chains, improving human and technological resources and focusing on innovation and collaboration.
