Within AMULET an educational programme has been put into place with the main objective of giving SMEs the chance to get first-hand knowledge from experts regarding lightweight topics. The programme was freely accessible to everyone, as well as research institutes and large companies.
The programme was set up diversely: on the one hand, a series of interactive webinars was organised, and on the other hand, a multitude of material was made freely accessible.
As for the webinars, every month a different topic was tackled by one of our experts. These topics could range from a deep dive into the newest material development to a more general webinar on how to deal with intellectual property. The webinars were made very low threshold: interested persons only needed to register and they could participate for free. During each webinar, there was room for questions and interaction. In that way, people could learn in a very efficient way, without leaving their desks and in direct contact with an expert on the matter.
The primary targeted audience for our webinars were employees from SMEs, but it was noticed that also large companies and research institutes found their way to the webinar broadcasts.
The audience evaluated the 17 webinars as very successful with an overall average score of 4.25/5. Therefore it was decided to make the recordings available to the public as well, so all the shared knowledge is certainly not lost. A link to these recordings can be found on our website (www.amulet-h2020.eu) or on our YouTube page as well.
Besides the webinars, a richly filled repository was created on all kinds of lightweight-related topics. This can be consulted on the ELCA online platform (https://elca.innogetcloud.com/repository), a free collaborative space for sharing research, funding, innovation and opportunities within the lightweight community. The type of materials that are published are very diverse: you can find rather informative guidelines, or newsletters, as well as white papers and public reports, but also scientific papers are being shared. Similar to the webinars, the topics range from highly technical topics to more business-oriented materials (Figure 1 and 2).
It is worth paying a visit to the repository on the ELCA online platform and getting inspired by all the information that is freely accessible.
In this way, the AMULET project partners hope to keep on supporting the SMEs in the lightweight community to continue learning and innovating!
